Deena and Ozzy.

I learnt the hard way that cheap heels hardly ever look good. I'm a big fan of a chunky heel and a tough, sturdy shoe. I am ridiculously clumsy and on nights out I always end up tripping over, spilling things and walking miles and miles so Pennies shoes usually fall apart before the second wear. Unfortunatly my budget is small so the thought of spending 300euro on shoes is unrealistic, but Deena and Ozzy have answered my prayers! Their shoes and comfy but strong, it'll take more than a little rain or a fallen glass of Jameson to mess these up and actually they seem to improve with age! I got both of my pairs in the sale at Urban Outfitters where their prices are always drastically cut and I can honestly say I have never gotten so many compliments about heels from women AND men. I can't wait to invest in some more.

Castlepalooza!

Castlepalooza was an amazing weekend! The grounds of the castle in Tullamore became our home for 3 days (which was slightly creepy in a great way) The crowd were incredible, great craic and because it was so small it was really easy to get around to everything and there was a real sense of community. Kid Karate, Adebisi Shank, No Monster Club and We are Losers were definitely highlights for me! Here's what I decided to wear:

Day one I wore my gold sequinned shorts from Topshop, which are probably my favourite shorts ever, I've worn them thin. Despite what you may assume they were actually super comfy, The Hunters are belong to my amazing sister Jo, who kindly let me steal them for the weekend (they are definitely worth the money!) and the Top is Boy London which I got for a fiver in the sale in Urban Outfitters.

On day two I wore my leather leggings from Urban Outfitters and a huge men's jacket, Vintage, which was really handy when it god chilly, it's like a blanket!

Castlepalooza/mini haul.

Last week I won 2 tickets to Castlepalooza which takes place in Charleville Castle on the August bank holiday weekend. I never win anything so I was pretty shocked to say the least! Me and my best friend Sophie had planned to go anyway but with the money we would have spent on tickets we decided to stock up on some festival essentials (but mainly not-so-essentials)!

I've wanted an armour ring for ages but just couldn't justify spending the best part of 20 euro in Topshop for something that would turn my finger green within a week, I was pretty excited when I came across this one in the sale which was down to 2.50!

I'm a massive fan of Topman accessories, usually you can find the same stuff as topshop in there for half the price! I love this cross necklace I found for 1.50 in the sale (it matches my ring, though I try not to wear them together because the Hipster jokes are painful)

Our next stop was H&M, I have to admit, I'm not the biggest H&M fan at all but I was pretty impressed with what they have in at the moment, I liked loads of the stuff I tried on but in the end I decided on this black and white dress, it's super comfortable and easy to pack, it's pretty light-weight too so I won't have to worry about it getting wet and heavy. I'll wear it with a massive army jacket and boots with plenty of jewelry at Castlepalooza and with heels and a cardi on nights out!

My sister Jo over at http://s-oh-s-ew.blogspot.com found this gem in A/wear for 17 euro, however, I'm am not blessed with her size 8 figure and so instead of squeezing into hers I bought my own, I definitely needed a new skirt since my high-waisted American Apparel jersey skirt is wearing very thin and like the dress above, this will be perfect for castlepalooza and nights out afterward!

Finally, I really wanted a good bag I could throw all of my stuff in, I'm not really into dainty bags, I like something that can deal with being battered a little bit, this one is perfect, it has 2 pockets, it's the perfect size, the long strap is perfect and it's beautiful! I am absolutely in love! I picked it up in The Turquoise Flamingo, which is definitely one of the best Vintage shops in Cork!

I've been meaning to start a fashion/beauty blog for quite some time and I've finally taken the plunge.

I'm Ruth, I'm 18 and I live in Ireland. (though hopefully I'll be moving to London to study History and Politics next year..)
I'm obsessed with the 20's and 40's, music, men's jackets and diet coke, I'm a total cliché, probably, but you will never find me wearings jeans.

Be kind.
